Nestled in Squamish, British Columbia, the Squamish Canyon project represents an extraordinary ecotourism destination now open to the public. This remarkable attraction transforms an otherwise inaccessible natural wonder into an experience available to everyone.

The project's center piece features elevated boardwalks and walkways that guide visitors through old-growth forest, alongside cliffs, and past spectacular waterfalls. The thoughtful design allows guests to experience the canyon's beauty while treading lightly on the delicate ecosystem below.

A defining feature of Squamish Canyon is its innovative construction approach. Rather than traditional foundations that would damage the forest floor, the project employs micro-piling—narrow tubes drilled into the ground and filled with concrete—minimizing disruption to root systems and preserving the surrounding environment. The raised walkways allow the forest to gradually reclaim their hold, integrating with the structures over time.

The walkways also showcase design sensitivity, with steps featuring low rises and deep treads to create gentle elevation changes that feel natural and effortless. A cantilevered steel deck extends dramatically over the canyon's edge, providing secure viewing platform of the waterfall below, particularly during winter months when the canyon fills with powerful rapids.
